By trade

Twelve trades. The same three facts behind all of them.

Your hands are full. The job gets described badly. And a photograph settles in one second what a conversation cannot settle at all.

What a plumber and a wedding venue have in common

Almost nothing, on the face of it. One is under a sink at eleven at night and the other is running somebody’s wedding on a Saturday afternoon. What they share is the shape of the moment they lose work in.

Your hands are full. That is not a scheduling problem to be solved with an answering service; it is the job. A stylist mid-color, a tech on a roof, a venue manager walking a couple through the barn. The phone rings and the honest answer is that nobody can pick it up, and the person calling has already opened the next tab.

The job gets described badly. “It stopped.” “Small brown bug.” “Something’s wrong with the door.” None of that is anybody’s fault, and none of it tells you which van, which part, or whether it is today. A person who has never opened an appliance cannot tell you what is written on the plate inside it, and asking harder over the phone does not help.

A photograph settles it. The data plate on the furnace. The brand on the motor label. The slope from the driveway. The model number on the inside of the door. One picture answers what ten minutes of questions cannot, and it answers it before anybody drives anywhere.

That last one is the part a phone line cannot do at all, which is worth saying plainly, because most of what is sold to these trades is a phone line with a voice on it. Formala answers on your website, asks for the picture, reads what is on it where reading it is honest, and emails you the job written up. On the free plan that is 10 conversations a month, with booking and direct messages included.
